I have told myself a few times that i need to start a blog but i have always been scared it will be a failed blog so i have never gotten round to it. I figured i liked putting my words out in public freshman year of college. It was after spending most of my Christmas holiday watching Def Poetry jam. There was this open mic for the minority students, "lyricist Cypher" and i had gotten a few ideas and thought i would try it out at the Cypher. I think i wrote my first poem right there in the crowd, went on to perform and i got a pretty positive response. Ever since then i have been writing. Even though i mainly wrote poetry, i branched out to express some of my thoughts on different issues. I first found an audience by writing notes on Facebook and then i got the "you should write a book" which i seriously considered then figured i was too lazy to do so and i was not exactly sure if i was good enough to write. Well today, i was reading Koranteng's Toli (which is a fabulously well written blog) and i thought it wouldn't hurt to blog. If i don't want to share it i can take it down or not tell anyone about it and if i thought it was worth reading I'll test it out on my friends.
If you wondered why Mouse's musings. I was called Danger Mouse all through high school, most of my high school friends still call me Danger and a few call me mouse or a variation. I thought Mouse's musings will be catchy, thus the name of my blog.
Caveat: my first actual piece of writing should be credited to Zophia way back in high school, i must have been about 15. I must have thought she had a crush on me and i thought she was pretty cute. She wrote poetry and she urged me to write something which i did, i must have written a few others but i was being a "boy" and poetry was not something i should be writing so then i really had no interest in it but for the fact that a nice and pretty young lady had asked that i write.
