Reflection

Staring at a screen, projecting herself in,
She lived in this scene,
Well, they,
Though she was the protagonist enjoying a love so serene,
She found her perfect match and whenever she was in his arms she felt peace within,
Scene 1, new found affection,
acts 1 – 4, depicting a love without distraction,
When their eyes spoke to each other, she could decipher what his smile was supposed to mean,
without pronunciations she could internalize the meanings,
Shakespeare was wrong, for in his face, she found his mind’s construction,
Scene one always ends, and she is staring, anticipating a beautiful progression,
Scene 2 – distractions
No longer alone, for this love is for public consumption,
Him and her, together confidently because the truth is there are no insecurities here,
Act 1, cute curvy brunette,
brunette approaches, and dark ambiance accentuates her silhouette,
approaches with a longing look making sure their eyes met, she really is just a flirt,
of no matter though, there are no insecurities here,
Act 2 – sexy acquaintance,
Swaying ever so elegantly, with sex exuding, her allure is undeniable,
She is staring at sexy acquaintance and her demeanour is enviable,
She is watching him at ease with her, wondering if jealousy is unforgivable,
there are no insecurities here,
well, they seem to start to appear,
Act 3 – old friend he holds dear,
the interaction is so effortless,
they always seem to be in their own zone,
like fish in water, he appears to be at home,
ridiculously comfortable,
without a doubt, Insecurities are here,
and she is ready to immolate friend he holds dear,
Scene 3 – Aloof
she can taste it, that angry bitter bile.
That bile that forms only when he is with another
and he is aloof all this while,
And through it all he seems unfazed
like these are complications from back in the day,
Back in the day prior to her,
for his character is now in a new scene,
a new production, her play,
Scene 4 – different perspective
She cannot take this in,
She rubs here eyes and blinks to be greeted to a new scene,
They are together alone,
Like it was in the beginning,
Except, that might not be him,
A little taller, a little darker
And yet she seems so content with tall dark and handsome,
She should be with him but this feels good for now,
Here she can let loose, feel free and let her guard down,
Her sexuality is liberated and it knows no bounds,
And the joy of it being wrong, the thrill just urges her to go on,
As hands stray, tongues intertwine and fluids exchange,
She is finally settled, that is definitely not him,
Scene – 5, clarity
Wrong feels so right and it will continue to last,
And he cannot know for at some point this will have to pass,
Oh, now its clear, the insecurities are stemming from her actions,
Her wrong is staring her in her a face
It all makes sense, that was not a screen,
She is overwhelmed by this scene,
She is overwhelmed...
by her reflection.
